What Is Personal Information?
In broad terms, personal information is any information or opinions that can determine your identity. When you sign up to a website you often provide personal information such as your email address, home address and date of birth. It is the responsibility of the website to keep your personal information private. Unfortunately there are a minority of website owners out there that do not respect confidentiality.
What Is Sensitive Information?
Sensitive information is information that may not determine your identity, but is still confidential. This includes password and login information. Often when you join a membership site it is in their terms that you must not share your login information; the same goes for the owner of the website itself. They should not take advantage of the information that you provide to them.
